Opportunity Description

We are currently seeking a QA Auditor/Inspector to assure excellent, consistent quality of both parts and processes, ensure product quality meets or exceeds customer specifications, provide support to help improve manufacturing processes and to obtain data and utilize statistical tools to evaluate for process improvement.

Job Duties

  • Verification of product conformance to Company and customer requirements including manufacturing plans, internal audits, policies, work instructions, quality records, specifications drawings, acceptance gages and tooling.  
  • Perform all inspection and testing of in-process, first-piece off, last piece and final inspection of finished products and raw materials.  
  • Effectively interact with production operators and production supervisors to adjust and troubleshoot in-process products manufactured.  
  • Verify proper machine set up. 
  • Identify, and notify production, when non-conformance or process related problems arise. 
  • Perform product inspections, tests, and visual examinations as required by established test methods and procedures.  
  • Responsible for documenting all inspections and tests performed on appropriate documentation utilizing legible and neat handwriting/printing.  
  • Responsible for documenting non-conformances on appropriate forms and communicating non-conformances to the QA Manager. 
  • Must ensure adherence to the quality control standards. 
  • Conduct studies to determine cause, effect, and corrective measures required to remedy deviations from standard. 
  • Identify raw material condition by collecting materials samples; conducting inspections and physical testing of materials. 
  • Identify in-process product condition by collecting samples during production process; conducting in-process inspections and physical tests.  
  • Determine disposition of finished product by collecting, classifying, analyzing, and interpreting production and quality data; judging product acceptability in comparison to specifications. 
  • Determine acceptability of rework by conducting inspections and physical tests of reworked product. 
  • Document finished product status by recording and summarizing raw materials, in-process, and finished-product inspection and physical test data; updating quality assurance data base. 
  • Authority to “stop production” if product does not meet requirements. 
  • Attend training activities as required. 
  • Participate in continuous improvement teams as required. 
  • Participate in safety and OSHA training. 
  • Work in an organized manner with attention to details.
  • Compliance with attached Safety Expectations.
  • Accurate recording of time including time-clock, job activities, and other data entry.
  • Compliance with relevant policies, procedures and instructions, including Code of Conduct.

Education

  • Graduation from high school or receipt of equivalent degree (GED).

Experience & Skills Required

  • 2-5 years quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.  
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 standard and IATF16949 environment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical measuring instruments including calipers, gauges, and micrometers.  
  • Ability to read blueprints and have a understanding of inspection and sampling techniques is required.  
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety requirements. 
  • Knowledge of basic Statistical Process Control (SPC) and statistical analysis as it applies to Quality Assurance. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong math skills. 
  • Ability to work in an extremely time sensitive, goal oriented and high-pressure job with complete professionalism. 
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T). 
  • Experience using the English & Metric Systems of measurement. 
  • Experience in calibration control systems for mechanical measuring systems.
  • Ability to recognize and understand Globally Harmonized Hazard Identification symbols.
  • Advanced level MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Advanced level ERP systems.
