The Wound Care Nurse Manager Provides evaluation, teaching and training to staff, members/family or designated representatives on wound care management.

  • The role is hybrid.
  • 3 days in the field or office.
  • 2 days working from home.
  • Not direct patient care.
  • Provided teaching on how to take care of the wound.
  • The Wound Care Nurse Manage schedule their own visit to go to a patient’s home.

Job Duties

  • The Wound Care Nurse Manager collaborates with physicians and Chief Medical Officer to develop treatment plans for members with active wounds according to current wound care protocols.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of current wound treatment plan and provides appropriate follow-up, direction and instruction to staff, members/family;
  • Provides educational in-services when necessary.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred

Experience & Skills Required

Three (3) years of experience in an Acute Care setting required.

Staff development or adult instruction, and/or home care experience preferred.

Knowledge of Department of Health and Managed Long Term Care standards for home care required.

MS Office required. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers, or employees of the organization.

Must be willing to travel to Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Bronx, Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk County. 

 

Certifications

Current New York State Registered Nurse License required.

Current Wound Care Certification.
