Opportunity Description

The Technical Support Representative assists customers with product questions, processes RMAs, evaluates and repairs products sent back to us, and when needed goes on site to provide technical assistance.

Job Duties

  • Providing product support to customers over the phone or by email
  • Issuing and processing RMA documents
  • Quoting and repairing RMAs, including board level repairs 
  • Maintaining company knowledge database of product related problems and their solutions
  • On-site installation and troubleshooting of lighting products (occasional domestic and foreign travel involved)
  • Complete special projects and requests in a timely and positive fashion
  • Monthly report of support metrics
  • Other duties as required

Education

BFA or Associates in Theatre Technology, or equivalent professional experience

BA or Associates in Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering

 

Experience & Skills Required

  • Experience as a Stage Electrician
  • Must be familiar with wireless DMX theatrical lighting  products (training will be provided)
  • Must be familiar with entertainment lighting technology products such as lighting fixtures, moving lights, and lighting controllers.
  • Ability to read schematics for electronic products
  • Ability to work well with others, including customers, vendors, electricians, and other technical entertainment personnel
  • Ability to solder both thru hole and surface mount components down to 0402 and 0.5mm pitch parts
  • Excellent verbal skills
  • Must be comfortable with internal troubleshooting as well as external
  • Familiarity with MS Windows, MS Office
  • Maintains an organized and neat work environment.
