(Bilingual Spanish)This position is responsible for overseeing manufacturing Operations on 1st or 2nd shift as assigned.  Strives to meet established Operational targets.  Provides direction to employees across the different areas and fosters a positive work environment for all employees.

Job Duties

  • Strives to maintain an accident-free workplace, that delivers safe and quality products to consumers
  • Provides guidance to production staff to meet production and quality goals
  • Supervises and coordinates the daily activities for the different production areas.
  • Supervises personnel, workflow, scheduling, inventory, profitability to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Ensures compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Maintains open lines of communications with employees and disseminates information to them as needed
  • Allocates adequate resources (people, time, dollars) to various manufacturing departments to enable completion of department goals and objectives
  • Partners with Human Resources for activities of the location to ensure good relations with employees and compliance with all state and federal employment laws
  • Coordinates and works with other department leaders (i.e., maintenance, QA, inventory, etc.) to ensure resources and support are adequate to meet the stated operational goals and to obtain optimum production and utilization of staffing, machines and equipment to create profitable production
  • Verifies GMPs and Safety standards are maintained at all times and take action and/or follow-up when deficiencies are noted
  • Tracks key performance indicators of operations including quality, service, safety and cost
  • Performs a daily walk through all areas of the operations facility, while having visibility on all shifts
  • Drives employee engagement, training and development to maximize safety, quality and productivity
  • Ensures confidentiality is maintained regarding sensitive documents
  • Continuous Improvement throughout the operation and reviews and establishes strategies and actions resulting in continuous improvement in safety, productivity, product quality, customer service, quality of work life, and lowers manufacturing costs
  • Follows established record retention guidelines
  • Performs the job while adhering to all company policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as necessary or assigned

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Manufacturing, or related field

Experience & Skills Required

  • Minimum five years ingredient / flavors manufacturing experience
  • Bilingual (Fluent in English / Spanish)
  • Prior experience managing a team of at least 40-50 employees
  • Food safety certifications
  • Intermediate Proficiency using MS Suite (i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of GMP, SQG, ISO, OSHA and EPA regulations a plus
  • Ability to maintain/handle confidential information
  • Must be process and detail oriented
  • EHS knowledge and a safety-first approach.
